Originates from the 13th century, Blair Castle is the ancient seat of the Dukes and Earls of Atholl, a history of over 700 years, it is one of the most accessible Scottish castles, family friendly and with plenty to see and do. Home of the Atholl Highlanders - Europe's only private army, harking back to the days when every Highland Chief had his own army. You can visit Hercules Garden and Sculpture Trail, Diana's Grove, Old Blair Kirk and the grave of the 17th C Jacobite Commander Bonnie Dundee. The woodland adventure playground is a great hit with children. Open 1st April to 31st October 9.30am to 5.30pm
